Hello!
Photography has been my favorite creative outlet since 2006. Over the years, I have developed skills in diverse visual contexts, ranging from weddings to family sessions, events and product photography. Through embracing my introverted tendencies, I recently discovered the ideal match for me and my camera: one-on-one portraits. In this more intimate setting, I can create a relaxed atmosphere that enables my subjects to genuinely be themselves.
I opt for capturing candid moments, instinctive motion, and sincere sentiment in my images, using natural lighting to achieve a felicitous ambiance. I want my portraits to elicit raw emotion from their viewers, as I believe this is what makes a photograph more meaningful. Inspired by the aesthetics of photojournalism, my unique style is easily recognizable, with many people recognizing what they call “Medeya’s magic touch”.
I moved to Sacramento from Siberia in 2001. As of recent, my husband, Joseph, and I have introduced two beautiful daughters into the world: five-month-old Celeste and two-year-old Olivia. My free time is largely filled with quality family bonding, which often takes place over our backyard fire pit with s’mores, wine (for Mom and Dad), and movies. However, I also enjoy baking, embroidery, and reading (add me on Goodreads!). I am also obsessed with the TV sit-com, Frasier. If you were to take a peek at my Youtube playlist you’d find artists like Thievery Corporation, Zero 7, Anjunabeats, Dua Lipa, and, Above and Beyond. If you and I were to get coffee, I’d probably order a flat white or, a cold brew!
